Throughout Ramya’s 10-year tenure at Availity, she has always demonstrated a tenacious spirit, constantly pushing herself to learn and grow in each of her roles. Ramya joined Availity as a quality analyst in 2011. Today, she is an application development manager where she oversees more than 30 QAs across all lines of business, including eligibility and benefits and clinical attachments.
Ramya is a sought-after resource among the Availity QA community. She started as a QA I and earned multiple promotions up to QA IV, before she transitioned to a developer role in 2019. While she welcomed the opportunity to grow her technical skills, she decided that QA is her true calling and accepted the QA management position in 2020.
Ramya appreciates working for a company that allows associates to develop their skills and ignite their passions, even if it means transitioning to a new team and role. “There is always something new to learn at Availity, and the organization respects and encourages it,” she says.
When Ramya’s team members ask her how to advance in their careers, she tells them to create an Individual Development Plan (IDP) to identify growth opportunities within the organization and beyond. She also encourages them to collaborate with other teams. “Interact with other associates that you don’t typically work with because their projects may not apply to you now, but could in the future,” she says.
As a long-time Availity associate, Ramya has been through many changes with the company and expects to see many more in the future. But she encourages her team to embrace the opportunities change brings. “With any change, there is some fear of the unknown, but it is all for a purpose and a good reason,” she says.
When Ramya is not mentoring her team or testing applications, she enjoys painting and dancing with her 14-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter. She also is an active member of Jacksonville’s She Can Code IT community.
