Jordan has been a dedicated member of the Availity team for over four years, beginning as a Strategic Account Manager and advancing to his current role as a Technical Account Manager. Throughout his tenure, Jordan has focused on building and maintaining strong relationships both internally and externally, ensuring that clients’ needs are met while driving the company’s mission forward.
Before joining Availity, Jordan’s career path was rooted in sports management. A former college basketball player at Geneva College, he initially worked with Ripken Baseball, but after realizing the lifestyle wasn’t aligned with his long-term goals, he pursued an MBA at Grand Canyon University and joined Apex Systems, where he managed relationships with Florida Blue. This experience improved his healthcare knowledge and helped him become more familiar with the healthcare industry’s demands.
Jordan’s background in business, combined with his passion for helping others, led him to Availity, where he found a fulfilling role connecting payers and providers in the healthcare industry. He then finished his MBA just one week after starting with Availity! His experience at Apex Systems was pivotal as he transitioned to Availity, where his role as Technical Account Manager has him managing a significant account with Centene. Jordan plays a crucial role in maintaining a high level of client satisfaction, working as a “defensive coordinator” to ensure that all client needs are met, and that expectations are exceeded.
One of Jordan’s most fulfilling moments came at the end of 2023 when Centene signed a major deal, something Jordan had worked with others on since his first day at Availity. He considers this achievement a milestone in his career and a testament to his commitment to building strong, lasting relationships with clients.
Jordan’s personal connection to healthcare runs deep. In 2021, his mother was misdiagnosed multiple times, eventually being diagnosed with lung cancer after nearly a year of delays and incorrect diagnoses. This experience highlighted the challenges of navigating the healthcare system and insurance processes, which further fueled Jordan’s dedication to his work at Availity. Jordan carries the impact of improving healthcare systems, especially in underserved communities such as Medicare and Medicaid, with him every day.
What sets Availity apart for Jordan is its culture. He appreciates the transparency within the organization, especially at the executive level, and the company’s unwavering commitment to its mission. The fact that Availity invests in its associates and fosters a collaborative environment where everyone is aligned with the company’s “why” makes it a unique place to work.
Outside of work, Jordan finds balance and inspiration through his wife Garlyn and their two kids. [JL1] Whether he’s playing basketball, boating, or cheering on his beloved Penn State football team, Jordan’s personal life and hobbies provide the energy he brings to his professional role. He also enjoys quality time with his golden retriever, Mogli, who has become a beloved member of the family.
Jordan’s advice for success at Availity is simple: “Lean on your leaders, do what’s expected, and then see what else you can do. Be proactive and always look for ways to support your team.” His commitment to the company, clients, and his own personal growth is an example of what makes Availity a special place to work.
Thank you, Jordan, for your hard work and dedication!
