Jaynae J

Manager, Strategic Account Services
Jacksonville, FL

Jaynae is a devoted mother and grandmother, volunteer, board member, college student, and “employee number 39” at Availity. She started as a Client Services Representative nearly 18 years ago when her best friend, then an Availity employee, recommended that she apply.

When she started, Availity had recently formed as a joint venture of Florida Blue and Humana to streamline processes among payers. Today, Availity has more than 1,300 associates and connects with nearly every health plan, coast to coast.

After six months as a call center representative, Jaynae received a promotion to operations analyst, and six months after that, she was named a senior operations analyst. After five years in operations, she started on the Alliance Management team and earned several promotions on the team. Jaynae was promoted in June 2021 to the Manager of Strategic Account Services for one of Availity’s premier health plan clients. In her current role, Jaynae manages the operations between Availity and her client, including internal escalations, change requests, roadmaps, and strategic priorities.

“Availity’s culture drew me in from the beginning,” she said. “But the work that we do with health plans and providers in the healthcare technology space is huge, and ultimately helps millions of patients.”

Community service is an integral part of Availity’s culture that Jaynae has always cherished. She was responsible for kicking off Availity’s first United Way campaign in 2004, after being personally impacted by the organization when her late nephew was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. Jaynae has become involved with other philanthropic organizations that the United Way supports. Under the leadership of CEO Russ Thomas, she has since helped spearhead mentoring programs for at-risk youth, including Availity’s Achievers for Life program and the Beyond School Walls Program with Big Brothers Big Sisters. Jaynae currently serves as the Board of Directors Chair for Northeast Florida Big Brothers, Big Sisters.

Strong leadership matters to Jaynae and having transparent, accessible, and involved leaders make all the difference. “I wouldn’t be able to do all that I do in the community if it were not embedded into our culture the way that it is,” she said.

Throughout the years, Jaynae has been given several opportunities for professional development. She’s participated in many Availity courses including Crucial Conversations, but she’s also working toward her bachelors degree in Business Management.

Jaynae is the social butterfly of the office. She loves connecting with her colleagues and meeting new people that join the organization. She has an energy that lights up every room she’s in and it’s fueled by the excitement of knowing that that each day at Availity is different. “There are challenging days, and there are great days, and I wouldn’t trade any of it.”
