Edward B. is a self-proclaimed Marvel movie connoisseur. He owns more than 30 Captain American t-shirts (a record he submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records), and even served on a team internally known as The Avengers.
Edward’s current team – The Portal Framework team – are some of Availity’s superheroes. Edward and the team are responsible for the Portal’s navigation menu, news and announcements, and Payer Spaces.
Edward and his team work closely with several departments across the organization, and Edward credits cross-team collaboration with their success.
“All of my colleagues at Availity are willing to help and guide me, and that makes all of the difference,” Edward said. He credits the Advanced Clearinghouse, API, Self-Service and Enterprise Portal teams for helping him along in his career and his projects.
Edward joined Availity in 2008 as a contractor for Availity Client Services (ACS), and although he is now in a more technical role, the knowledge that he gained working on the front line of customer support calls continues to serve him. He learned to keep the end user in mind and asks, “Does this make sense? Will an end user know what that means?”
“In ACS, we learned to leverage immediate resources to troubleshoot, and that has carried on with me as I look for new opportunities within Availity to streamline and automate processes,” Edward said.
When he’s not managing projects, Edward likes to stay active with indoor rock climbing and mud runs. In the past, he’s even tried out for the show, American Ninja Warrior.
