Chelsea S.

Employee Engagement Manager
Jacksonville, FL

Chelsea is the face behind Availity’s Employee Communications, but that’s not how her Availity journey started back in 2012. Chelsea graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Business Marketing. After graduating, she landed a job as a health IT recruiter for a consulting company in Jacksonville and Availity was one of her clients. Working closely with Availity, Chelsea soon accepted an offer for a full-time Senior Staffing Consultant position. In 2015, Chelsea moved into an HR Generalist role, where she worked with managers on employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning. She also spearheaded the Workday recruitment implementation. Chelsea realized becoming an HR business partner was not the right career path for her, and she felt supported by her peers in that decision.

Forming many strong relationships throughout the organization, Chelsea was a natural choice for HR Chief of Staff. Chelsea supported the Senior Vice President of Human Resources in project management, communications coordination across the business, and system implementations. This role exposed her to other avenues of human resources, marketing, and the enterprise. Internal communications presented an opportunity to work closely with Availity leadership on strategic initiatives furthering Availity’s operating priorities.

In 2019, her position of Employee Engagement Manager moved from HR to Corporate Communications, landing her right back where she has always wanted to be, in Marketing. As part of the Marketing and Corporate Communications team, Chelsea could easily align with existing communications initiatives. Here, she can apply metrics to employee engagement while accessing the full resources and capabilities of the department to tie her work back to the corporate strategy.

One of Chelsea’s most recent contributions to Availity includes helping to conceptualize, create, and launch the Availity Unplugged series. “I remember starting at Availity as a young professional, and how challenging it was to navigate because it wasn’t clear who to go to for help? I’m so glad that this series is helping to inform new employees while getting long-time employees re-engaged and excited about their contributions to Availity’s success. We are connecting dots, and it’s also just a lot of fun!”

Chelsea appreciates the experiences that Availity has provided and credits the company for giving her opportunities to explore her interests, talents, and career paths. She’s learned many life lessons about people, management, running a business and more that will be beneficial in every facet of her life and career. “I am in awe of the creativity that my peers bring to the table every day. And I encourage everyone to build relationships across the organization, lean on your teams, and not be afraid to ask someone for help,” says Chelsea. “Employees at Availity are empowered to make positive changes that impact others.” When she’s not at work, Chelsea enjoys the beach, working out, and wine (maybe not in that order).
