Diversity & Inclusion

3.09.2021 By Availity

Availity’s strength lies in the diversity of our people, with each associate bringing something unique to the organization. By celebrating our differences and learning more about each other, we will continue to grow stronger.

To help us make this vision a reality, we launched Availity’s Diversity and Inclusion committee last year to create a safe and transparent forum where associates can share their stories. The committee’s first meeting attracted more than 75 associates, and as a result we decided to establish sub-groups and asked volunteers to serve as group leaders. There are currently four groups, and each has been active in planning events, sharing educational resources, and promoting the group mission throughout the company.

Availity is proud to support the following associate-led groups and their missions:

Beyond Black

“It’s more than just being accepted for being black. It’s about going above and beyond to understand the culture, history, and education of black people around the world, and for accepting black people for being who they are.” The Beyond Black team celebrated Black History Month by featuring Black and African American associates from the Availity family.

Availadies

“Our mission is to provide a safe, inclusive community to build connections, share resources, find inspiration, and promote opportunities for women to acquire the skills and strategies necessary for professional advancement.”

It’s early in 2021, but the Availadies have been busy. They created a social share cadence to let other women know about the job opportunities at Availity, and they have scheduled a financial acumen training for later in the first quarter.

VetAvaility

VetAvaility is a strong, dedicated group of associates that understand the importance of service members and their families. We are here to support, educate, inform, and bring our communities together.”

For Veterans Day 2020, the group asked current and past service members to share pictures from their time in service to recognize veterans who work for Availity.

Availity Pride

“Our mission is to uplift,  encourage, and celebrate our LGBTQIA voices in the Availity workplace, and in our own communities.”Pride Week 2020 featured members of Availity’s LGBTQIA community sharing photos of the rainbows in their lives on internal and external social channels.
