Patient as the New Payer - Patient Payments A Tweetchat

8.04.2017 By AVAILITY

It’s the catchphrase for healthcare in 2017: The Patient as the New Payer. The increase in high-deductible and health savings account plan adoption means that the old method of waiting to bill the patient until after the insurance company has paid isn’t cutting it anymore. But what does that mean for providers and their patients? Join TSYS’s Director of Relationship Management, Ben Buchanan (@benbuchanan28), and our own Principal of Payment Solutions, Sean Kilpatrick (@spkilpatrick), on Friday, 8/11 at 1pm ET to discuss the why and how of assessing, capturing, and collecting patient payments in our new healthcare world.

Our tweetchat will be held in T1:A1 format with the following topics:

T1: How does the new system of #patientresponsibility for healthcare bills affect providers? Patients? #AskAvaility

T2: What trends in patient payments are driving #patientresponsibility? #AskAvaility

T3: How should providers alter their current billing processes to account for these changes? #AskAvaility

T4: What tools should providers use to make it easy to capture payments? #AskAvaility

T5: To what extent will consumerism in healthcare impact the payments process? #AskAvaility

T6: How long until providers fully adapt to these changes?  #AskAvaility
